Metropolis apartment build
We turned an entire top level floor of New Zealand’s largest residential apartment from a completely empty shell into two large luxury penthouse homes. The curved floor to ceiling windows of each apartment provided 360 degree views of Auckland City and harbour. This stunning luxury apartment features solid walnut, floor to ceiling louvres, handcrafted tiles as well as its own library. We also loved incorporating sentimental touches of our clients character throughout the home. The powder room in particular holds many elements close to our clients heart.
The kitchen cabinetry as well as the counter-levered bench top was completed with walnut oak. All of the appliances were fully integrated into the cabinetry. The outcome was a seamless design. Hand crafted white stone tiles covered the entire back wall and splash-back, giving an ever so subtle edge to the refined look of the walnut oak. Finally, the stainless steel hardware was the perfect final touch, adding a slight contrast.
This powder room was extremely special because it featured an important and personal touch of character from our clients past. For instance, the wallpaper used was from a fifty year old roll found in their original home. Additionally, the pendant used was also found in their original home, which we restored and placed it beside the iron cast framed mirror. The vanity is also custom made from solid walnut oak finished with an imported Italian bowl.
Another way that our clients character shone through the design of the apartment was this custom built walnut oak library. Our clients very own personal library, filled with all of their favourite novels and books, leads to the office of the apartment. Undeniably a book lovers heaven.
