Bungalow Blue
35 Symonds Street, Auckland City

Bungalow Restoration on Symonds

This little blue bungalow in the heart of Auckland City was an honour to restore. The project entailed completely gutting the home rebuilding it. It was extremely important to both our client and to us that we were still able to conserve the heritage of this beautiful bungalow by restoring and reinstating character features throughout the home.

The 6 metre wall of cedar stacking bi-fold doors and 5 side by side skylights were two stunning architectural additions made to the design of the bungalow that flooded the space with natural light.

Authentic, individually laid Mosaic tiles covered the floors of the bathroom in this bungalow. We lined the back of the shower wall with 3m long, floor to ceiling tiles. Brushed brass tap ware to finish.

The use of obscured glass throughout the house effortlessly tied each of the otherwise unique rooms together. Such a stunning feature which added elegance and style, while paying homage to the heritage of the home.

This space in particular, has something to captivate the eye in every direction you look. From the exposed rafter ceiling and the arctic glass lounge beam, to the curved wall of cedar windows and French doors. Impeccable Kauri flooring was used throughout the bungalow.
